22nd time's a charm?

I was going to jump on the bandwagon and do the whole ten on Tuesday deal, but this one deals with tv. Which I don't watch much of anymore. >.> And what I do is usually downloaded onto my lifeline on which I'm typing right now.
-cough-
Anyways!

I finally gave in and buckled down to work on the Hermione's Cable & Eyelet Hat again. You'll remember that I finally managed to get through the 16 rows of 1x1 ribbing and had started to form the pattern for the cables before I realized I had only cast on for 101 stitches, not 110.
I'm now farther then I was when I'd had to frog it. And I'm now reminded of how important it is to gauge even for something like a hat!

UGH! I had a feeling this was coming. Since I got everything right for once on the damn thing, it's just not going to fit me. -sigh- Oh well. I'll just have to put it into the gifting pile and then make one for myself and actually
GAUGE the mess. Either way, I'm still proud of myself. It's my first hat. And my first time using the alternate cable cast-on. And successfully doing a 1x1 rib. I'm still stoked. I think this calls for a drink! Midori sour anyone???...

I haven't seen Jenn at all since Detour, so pictures are still pending. But Noah and the Whale and Matt Costa were both insanely amazing and beautiful! And we had a "pizza party" with Matt which was awesome. (: And we met one of the girls from LA Ink who was hanging out with him at his signing booth. They were both a total blast. And Noah and the Whale were awesome. I'm still stoked to have been able to meet both of them in person. Good times, that.

Of course I don't know who any of those people are. I grow old, I grow old, I shall wear the bottom of my trousers rolled... but I did hear "Here Without You" on the radio this am. Love that song, so maybe I'm not completely out of it yet :).

Had you not already frogged it I would have suggested that you simply increase the sts you needed, this being a common maneuver at the end of hat (or sleeve, or sock) ribbing anyway. But it looks like the Gauge Monster would have gotten you either way, as it has gotten me so many times (I can hear its evil cackle). Pretty yarn, though, worth another try or six.
