Haha, I guess I didn't care for a whole lot of songs from 2003. :']

What can I say? I didn't like Timberlake back then. And most of the songs were all stupid rap songs.
Which I hate.
All-in-all, though, not bad!

Ugh

I was knitting. Quite quickly. I was rather proud of myself. I was working on my first ever hat.
I'd cast on and ripped it out 20 times before I got the cast on and the 1x1 ribbing going right.
Just a reminder of how much of a newbie I really am.
Look at it. Isn't it pretty?
16 rows of lovely, pretty 1x1 ribbing with an alternate cable cast-on!
I was so proud of myself! Until I go to the part where the cables start. After 3 rounds, I realized that something was definitely off.
MY COUNT.
I'd only cast on 100 stitches. Not the 110 that I needed. :(
So, it's now been unraveled. And I'm afraid to start it again.
I was determined to have it done for the festival on Friday. And after getting through all the ribbing, I was certain I could do it.
Not so much anymore.
Ugh.

I'm slowly turning into the type of chick that no mother would want their kid to date.
And I find it oddly funny. Hahaha.
I want to get my lip pierced. I want to get a tattoo.
I WANT TO GET A DAMN MOTORCYCLE! For crying out loud!
And I have a new addiction.
Now, I'm not addicted to them in any way, shape or form.
And I'm not just being all in denial about it. I smoke them when I have them.
If not, I don't go through withdrawals or anything.
And they're just too fun! They're a regular cigarette, but in the filter, they placed a tiny little menthol crystal. Pop the crystal and suddenly you have a menthol.
They're very nice. And very not healthy, I know. But I'm going through my rebellious stage.
Ah, the things I need to catch up on. I missed out on a lot being in a relationship as soon as I graduated from high school.
So many things to do. So much trouble to cause. ;)

Anyways, I hope everyone has a good week! I'm contemplating picking up the hat again. If I mess it up again, the idea may be scratched. We'll see. May the knit be with you!

It's Friiiiday!

Friday Fill-ins

I decided to give in and start doing some of these to make myself blog more. Because otherwise it may be months again before anyone hears from me!
And this one looked like fun!

1. Halloween and the LA Weekly Detour Festival are some of the things I'm most looking forward to in October.

2. Sometimes I drive without my permit. Oops.

3. I'm hoping to get my first tattoo soon, and that's why there is a saying, "never say never"!

4. When I'm down, I listen to my music and surf around Ravelry.

5. Work is where you'll find me most often.

6. A rainy day is good for dancing outside.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to sleeping, tomorrow my plans include watching Sal's soccer game, knitting and cleaning and Sunday, I want to sleep, but I have church to attend!

So there you go. Useless things you never really needed to know about me. :]

I've cast on for a hat about 10 times now and I always mess something up. I finally had it right and had knit 2 rows when I realized I was short 5 stitches. This just isn't really a good time for me to be knitting, I guess. But I will be relentless!

Hopefully I'll have knitting to post up soon!

I'm stoked for the LA Weekly Detour Festival next week. Noah & The Whale and Matt Costa will be performing there. And I love those guys. :)

I'm running away now to knit myself to sleep. Lol. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Edward is godly...

I've been thinking a lot lately.
Probably more then I should be.
I always think too much when I find good books.
Don't ask why, because I have no clue. Haha.

I've decided a few things. I need to focus on myself a bit more and just stop worrying about what everyone else needs or wants.
It's just a matter of figuring out where I'd like to change.

Change is definately something I need.

I'm going to be getting brutally honest with myself and find all the things I don't like about myself so I can start working on fixing them.

I've already got a few things lined up.

1. I want to be happy. Really, truly happy. I don't want to have to fake it.
2. I want to stop depending on people for things. I'm 23. I shouldn't need everyone as much as I do.
3. I want to find someone. But someone that I can be with. Someone who won't make me do all the work to keep things going.
I know that you need to give and take in a relationship, but I don't want to have to chase after someone.
4. I want to enjoy the single life for a while. I'm thinking I'm going to shoot for at least a year.
That doesn't mean no dating or anything, but staying out of a relationship.
5. I want to make things better with my parents. My mom...I don't know if that will ever happen. She has no trouble showing her disdain and disappointment for the person I am.
I'm not letting it get to me too much, but she's very persistant.

A few of these will probably wind up on my 101 in 1001 list when it's revised. It's sort of turning itself into a "better the person you are" list then anything. But there's nothing wrong with that, right?

I finished reading Twilight today. I finally gave into the craze and snagged the book. And I loved it. So now I have to find the Twilight-inspired knits and everything so I can share my new obsession.
Edward is definately love, lol.

I'll be going to the LA Weekly Detour Festival with Jenn on Oct. 4. It should be great fun. We're trying to make whales for Noah and the Whale and maybe something else for Matt Costa. It's a knitter thing, isn't it?

No new knitting updates just yet. I'm slowly trying to get my life back. It's killing Wolf a bit, but it's something I need to do. And she needs to get used to me not being there 24/7 like I was.

Hope everyone's having a good week so far!

Post Secret

I'm usually always one of those that looks forward to the new updates on Sundays. Something about hearing other people's troubles and seeing some that match mine makes me feel a little better.
I've never really thought to send one in. I'm too afraid to.
But Frank called for people to text their secrets to strangers yesterday.
Now, this may come off as a stupid idea to some people, but for me it sounded like a godsend.
I've been depressed a lot lately. And being able to say what I was feeling and why right when I needed to has made me feel a lot better.
What's made me feel even better is when people respond back with their own. And when you're able to help them. Like this person.

"My secret: I'm scared I've forgotten how to love. Does it even exist?"

To which I replied back:
"It does exist. And when you find it, you'll remember everything you need to know. <3"

They wrote back saying thank you and that they needed to hear that. Call me weird, but that was insanely liberating. This has helped me to decide that I want to be completely open about things on this blog. New life, new view right? I'm going to see this more as a place for me to speak, as opposed to me using it to tell people about things. It's something I've realized I need. I'll still update with my knitting news and all that good stuff. But just expect a far more honest me. :)
